Course description

How many of you learned about the workings of the female body from your mum when you were a teenager? And many of our mothers learnt about their body from your grandmother. Or if this wasn’t the way, you were likely introduced to an understanding of your menstrual cycle by a magazine or from a high school teacher sharing a prescribed curriculum.

As you can probably guess from this line of questioning, so much of what we come to think is true about the workings of our body was handed down to us by well-meaning people who were far from experts on the biochemistry and cellular workings of the body. When working with patients it breaks my heart to hear stories from women of how they suffer unnecessarily with their menstrual cycle and what their body experiences each month.

Filmed live at one of my events, in this online seminar I will explain some key areas that will make a real difference to your understanding of how your body works and how many body systems interact, including:

  • How stress impacts sex hormone balance
  • How estrogen is a fat storage hormone and when in excess can lead to fluid retention and host of other challenges
  • How progesterone has powerful calming properties and helps us utilize body fat as a fuel.
  • How to support your body’s ability to regulate your sex hormones, a much needed understanding given that in the 17 years I’ve worked with people, only 6 women have had the optimal amount of progesterone!
  • The sex hormone imbalances that lead to PMT and the debilitating symptoms too many women experience unnecessarily, such as headaches/migraines, bloating, fluid retention, tender breasts and heavy painful clotty periods.
  • How to best support yourself as you transition through peri-menopause to menopause and how hormones are made post-menopause.

Learn how these challenges with sex hormone balance and regulation can impact your mood, energy, stress levels and sleep, as well as how your clothes fit you. The powerful role the thyroid gland plays in women’s health will also be discussed. This seminar is suitable for women of all ages and is highly educational and appropriate for teenage girls...in fact, after learning this information, many women exclaim that they wish they’d known all of this at a much younger age.
